How guarantees can help

Mobilising private capital is widely recognised as crucial to drive the changes needed to achieve a regenerative, sustainable ocean and net zero climate-resilient future. 

Guarantees are one of the most efficient financing instruments which can be used to unlock more affordable and long-term private capital.

Guarantees offer innovative ways of leveraging relatively small amounts of capital to address both real and perceived risks that prevent private debt providers from financing high-impact projects.

Guarantees have a transformational role in the way they create capacity among private debt providers to learn about the blue economy as an asset class and build their confidence to invest without guarantees in the future.

Our guarantee capacity

Nautilus offers an initial guarantee capacity of up to USD 250 million. This enables access to debt investments (blue loans or bonds) for eligible regenerative and sustainable blue economy projects that will otherwise not be available given the associated risks.
